The Church of Saint Martin in Beaumont houses a statue of the Dieu de Pitié, which comes from a chapel in the former cemetery, and preserves traces of various alterations from the 16th and 20th centuries.

At Parc des Îles in Hénin-Beaumont, visitors can enjoy cycling, hiking, rollerblading, Nordic walking, biathlon, orienteering, disc golf, pétanque and kite flying. The park includes bodies of water, themed islands, meadows and lawns in a vibrant landscape crossed by green and blue corridors.

Parc des Îles was created on the former site of the Cokerie de Drocourt and covers 160 hectares. There are two disc golf courses with 9 and 18 holes respectively. In addition, five permanent orienteering courses with increasing levels of difficulty are available.

The facilities also include the free Adventure Lab course “Le Parc des Îles, d’hier à aujourd’hui”, which is accessible to wheelchair users.

Visitor Information

Aquaterra in Hénin-Beaumont offers exhibitions, a tropical greenhouse and themed gardens. Educational workshops for the general public take place there throughout the year. Aquaterra also offers self-guided visits and guided tours with commentary by reservation.

The educational farm welcomes visitors year-round from Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.; when school groups are being hosted, it must close to the public.

The educational farm offers individuals, families and groups of friends an outing in nature to discover animals and the natural world.
