The “Camus haut” is element 52 of the “Bassin minier du Nord-Pas-de-Calais”, which is part of the UNESCO World Heritage and was added to the World Heritage List in 2012. The “Camus haut” in Annay-sous-Lens is also the last surviving example of the most recent type of miners’ housing built by the Houillères du Bassin Nord-Pas-de-Calais.

Culture and History
The parish church of Saint-Amé is a rectangular reinforced-concrete hall with a single-pitched copper roof. It comprises a wide nave, a choir, a sacristy, a winter chapel, a covered patio and a baptistery.
The Abbaye de la Brayelle, also known as the Notre-Dame d’Annay Abbey, was founded in Annay in 1196.
The patronage of the chapel of Annay was transferred in 1110 by Lambert, Bishop of Arras; the chapel was completely destroyed in 1740 and rebuilt in the town centre in 1745.
Nature
The centrally located ponds of Annay have been developed as a recreational area and are used by walkers and anglers. The Marais area of Annay offers the opportunity to discover the local flora and fauna and is used for walking.
Some of the paths in the Marais area of Annay are accessible by vehicle and accessible to people with reduced mobility.
Activities
The Parc du marais d’Annay has a disc golf course with nine baskets. The new disc golf course at the Marais is intended to host regional and national competitions. The Annay Disc Golf Club offers the sport to the general public; pupils, families, and younger and older people are welcome.
A municipal membership card entitles holders to fish for trout in ponds No. 1, 2 and 3. Day permits for fishing at the Grand Marais are sold on site by clearly identifiable representatives for €7.
