Fort d'Ambleteuse was built by Vauban between 1683 and 1690. Since 1965, it has been classified as a historic monument. The fort houses a museum and an information centre about the coast of the eastern English Channel and the North Sea.

Culture and History

The Chapelle Saint-Pierre was completed in 1857 at the site of the Saint-Pierre spring or well. The Ambleteuse seawall was completed in September 1903. The Belle Époque villas were built along the seawall as Ambleteuse developed into a seaside resort from the 1870s onwards.

The Musée historique 39-45 displays more than 120 fully equipped soldiers and thousands of objects. Ambleteuse's new church was built between 1881 and 1884 in the Neo-Gothic style.

Nature

The Les dunes de la Slack et la Pointe aux Oies nature reserve covers the municipalities of Wimereux and Ambleteuse and spans 213 hectares. It has two trails: the Sentier de la baie St-Jean, 4.7 km long, and the Sentier de la Pointe aux Oies, 2.6 km long. In the Les dunes de la Slack et la Pointe aux Oies nature reserve, ponds in the dune system provide many amphibians with a habitat for reproduction.

The Rando'Ferme du Boulonnais is located at 33 rue de l'aérodrome in the hamlet of Raventhun in Ambleteuse.
