Culture and History

The Musée du Fort de Seclin is dedicated to the history of the First World War. Its collection includes artillery pieces, limbers, wagons and everyday objects from the period between 1870 and 1920.

The Hôpital Notre-Dame was built in 1246 by Countess Marguerite of Flanders and is classified as a historic monument. Its garden is presented as a medieval medicinal plant garden.

The Collégiale Saint-Piat is a historic monument; its construction history ranges from a 7th-century mausoleum to a Gothic building from the 13th century. It contains an ornate blue-stone tomb slab and a well-preserved chapter-house complex, as well as a 10th-century crypt.

The Fête des Harengs, with its traditional parade, takes place every other year, in even-numbered years.
