Culture

The Church of Saint-Nicolas preserves several remarkable furnishings. These include a 96 cm-high polychrome group of wooden sculptures, which has been protected as movable historic cultural heritage since 1978. A pewter burette in the church is also protected as movable cultural heritage. The nave was built in 1672, while the bell tower was rebuilt in 1897.

The municipality’s built heritage also includes several small religious buildings: the Le Bon Dieu de Gibelot Chapel on Rue d'Ors was built in 1694 and is considered the oldest element of the municipality’s built heritage. The Notre-Dame des Affligés Chapel dates from 1704 and stands on the Route de Landrecies. The Saint-Druon Oratory on Rue de la Bouflette dates from 1778.

The Moulin des Tricoteries was built in the mid-18th century by J. P. Salengros and was granted the right to mill grain on 27 March 1757. It is located in a loop of the Riviérette and was supplied via a partly underground channel connected to a millpond situated above it. La Chambre d'eau, a multidisciplinary venue for artist residencies, is based at the Moulin des Tricoteries. It offers laboratory residencies, open workshops, production residencies, as well as residencies for artists and researchers. La Chambre d'eau also organises the biennial Eclectic Campagne(s) festival and the travelling programme Échappées, which takes place at different locations.

Nature

The Parc de loisirs du Waterlin leisure park in Le Favril includes an animal park and an arboretum with 220 different ornamental trees. It also includes an orchard with more than 200 apple trees. The park is additionally home to a museum of agricultural machinery and a fishing pond. The ZNIEFF type I “Bocage de Prisches et bois de Toillon” is also associated with Le Favril.
