Culture and History
The Chapelle Sainte-Thérèse-de-l'Enfant-Jésus-et-de-la-Sainte-Face in Hem was built between 1956 and 1958 with the involvement of architect Hermann Baur and painter Alfred Manessier. Together with the neighboring workers' houses, it forms a beguinage. The chapel and its campanile have been listed as historic monuments since February 14, 1995. The Boucle de la Tribonnerie passes by it; the chapel has stained-glass windows by Manessier.
Another cultural venue is the Micro-Folie de Hem, a free cultural facility open to everyone. There, visitors can discover digital works from more than 400 national and international institutions and museums.

Nature and Trails
The Chemin de la Salamandre runs for 800 meters along Hem's species-rich wet meadows. Geocaching is available along this trail free of charge, for people aged five and over, year-round and independently.
The Boucle des quatre vents offers a 5.76-kilometer loop that is accessible to people with reduced mobility. The Boucle de la Source runs along the Marque through riverside woodland; the European hedgehog is protected there.
Leisure and Cycling
The Base de Loisirs de Hem includes a fishing pond, sports equipment, table tennis and chess tables, and picnic tables. The facility also has a play area for children. The cycling route “Lille côté marais à vélo” leads to the facility.
Local Life and Culinary Delights
Ferme Braquaval is a typical four-sided farm with a paved inner courtyard. The farm dates back to the 16th century and was renovated in 2016. The Boucle du Houblon leads to Ferme Braquaval, where the building houses a Café Rando operated by the craft brewery Les Tours du Malt. Les Tours du Malt offers guided brewery tours with explanations of brewing methods, beer tasting, and the Tour Infern'Ale game.
Hem's weekly Sunday market takes place every Sunday morning from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the Grand’Place.
