The historic sites of Dourlers include the Chapelle Saint Julien. It dates from the late 15th century and was originally attached to a hospice that accommodated travellers, people in need and pilgrims seeking food or somewhere to stay for the night. The chapel is made of brick and blue Hainaut stone; the side entrance features Gothic elements. The Chapelle Saint Julien and its surrounding wall have been completely restored; further restoration work to renovate the interior is planned for the interior.

The present-day Église Saint-Médard replaced earlier church buildings in 1862 and was built in the Renaissance style. It contains the tombstone of A.F. Bady, Lord of Dourlers, who died in 1735, and his wife Marguerite Rouillon, who died in 1760. The vault of the right-hand chapel is panelled with wood and decorated with the year 1517, as well as painted garlands and flowerpots.

History

The ruins of the Mur des Sarrazins are located in the hamlet of Trieu Gaillon, about 500 metres north of the church of Dourlers. There, they line a local connecting road for around 20 metres.

The Fort d'Haumont, Fort du Bourdiau, the historic site of Abbaye d'Hautmont and the historic site of Abbaye Sainte Aldegonde are located in the vicinity of Dourlers.

Routes

The Circuit du Mont Dourlers circular route starts at the church of Dourlers and offers a 7-kilometre and a 10-kilometre option. The 10-kilometre option passes the Mur des Sarrazins, which is considered to be the remains of a Roman aqueduct.

The Parc Communal is located on Rue Jean Coin and can also be reached on foot via the Ruelle des Espagnols at the lower end of Rue Jean Coin.

The hills of Terril de l'Héribus and Mont Panisel are located in the wider regional surroundings of Dourlers.
