Villa Cavrois was designed by Mallet-Stevens between 1929 and 1932 and classified as a historic monument in 1990. Culture
The Église Saint-Martin was built between 1847 and 1851 by the architect Charles LEROY and is considered the first church built entirely in the Neo-Gothic style. It has been listed as a historic monument since 9 June 2005.
Nature
The Jardins Mallet-Stevens comprise four themed gardens dedicated to agriculture, bees, aromatic plants and vegetable growing, as well as a water garden. They include play areas for children, a small orchard, a flower meadow, paths through the undergrowth and a landscaped amphitheatre for various performances. Admission to the gardens is free; they are open seven days a week.
Events
The Fête du Kiosque has taken place every year since 1998 at the beginning of autumn and presents artists in a green setting. The Marché de Saint-Pierre takes place weekly on the Place de la Liberté and features stalls operated by food retailers.
Getting Around
Villa Cavrois can be reached by tram line R to the Villa Cavrois stop, followed by a 15-minute walk, or by metro line 2 to Croix Centre, followed by a 25-minute walk.
