Rare bird species such as bluethroats, reed buntings and meadow pipits live in Bierne’s protected natural area. There are also large numbers of common snipes. Bierne’s ornithological zone has two observation posts from which the area can be viewed.

Nature
Bierne’s eco-grazing project is located in the heart of the park surrounding the multi-purpose hall. From spring to autumn, it is home to several Solognote crossbred sheep.
Trails
The Voie douce connects Bierne and Bergues. The path is open to all pedestrians and cyclists and closed to motorised vehicles.
Les Pieds de coteaux is a 7 km hike in Bierne. The loop illustrates how natural and artificial structures manage the risk of flooding in this area.
Culture
The parish church of Saint-Géry in Bierne was rebuilt in 1807 after the older church, dating from 1414, had been demolished. Between September 1893 and December 1895, Saint-Géry was extended by one bay and fitted with a bell-tower porch according to plans by the architect Louis Croin. The church is named after Saint Géry of Cambrai, who was Bishop of Cambrai.
