Before the Revolution, Vigoulet was a community with its own church, but was affiliated with the parish of Pechbusque. Vigoulet and Auzil were founded as two separate municipalities in 1789 and administratively merged in 1842.

History
The church in Vigoulet, dedicated to Saint Martin, was built around 1377 as a subsidiary church of the church in Pechbusque. The Church of Saint Martin has a brick bell gable characteristic of the churches in the Toulouse region. It was extensively renovated in 2010 and 2011, receiving a new ceiling and new stained-glass windows.
The history of Vigoulet is also linked to a very old estate on which a noble residence known as the Château de Vigoulet was built. The field name also bore the name Vigoulet. The first known owner of the Château de Vigoulet was Pierre de Vigoles, a capitoul of Toulouse.
Culture
The Espace Persik cultural centre was completely renovated, expanded and redesigned to offer the residents of Vigoulet-Auzil, as well as people in the Coteaux area, a high-quality cultural programme. The Espace Persik also hosts activities organised by the municipality's associations, including dance, music, singing and yoga.
The Vigoulet-Auzil media library offers its members a selection of books and CDs. The library also organises temporary exhibitions.
The Manoir d’Auzil in Vigoulet-Auzil, also known as the “Château d’Auzil”, is located along a hiking trail and catches the eye of many walkers. It was once inhabited by capitouls and includes, among other things, two towers and several outbuildings.
Geographical location
Vigoulet and Auzil lie on the southern slopes of the geographical Lauragais region, but do not belong to the historical Lauragais. The Écuries du Bois de Bordeneuve are located in the forest of Vigoulet-Auzil on the hills of the Lauragais.
There are three independent equestrian centres in Vigoulet-Auzil that continue the area's equestrian tradition. The Écuries du Bois de Bordeneuve offer numerous riding trails, a 60-by-30-metre riding arena, an 18-metre-diameter lunging ring and a covered 30-by-40-metre riding hall that can be used for lunging. There, visitors can enjoy recreational or sports riding on horseback or ponyback.
The Club Hippique de Vigoulet offers lessons supervised by qualified professionals, as well as facilities for recreational and competitive riding. The club also organises riding demonstrations involving riders of all ages.
