Tarabel: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
The first documented mention of the Château de Tarabel dates from 1362. The château is privately owned and can only be viewed from the outside. From 1540, Pierre de Coustous commissioned major modernization work on the Château de Tarabel. The “Château et abords” ensemble in Tarabel bears the designation “Si” dated 26 April 1946.
History and Culture
The Church of Saint-Barthélémy in Tarabel was completed in 1844 on the site of a former château chapel. One of the church’s bells dates from 1559 and is classified as a historic monument. The church is also decorated with murals by François Bernadi.
Market Life
Tarabel’s village market takes place on Thursday afternoons from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the village square. The market features a local poultry producer as well as a cheesemaker.
Events
At the “Tarabel en Fête” event, a large paella was offered at 8:00 p.m. as the main course, with a starter and dessert. Tarabel’s village festival is planned as an annual recurring event; one edition was scheduled from Thursday, 28 August, to Sunday, 31 August, on the last weekend of August.
