The Église Saint-Jacques d'Oô is a Romanesque church dating from the 12th century. When it was built in the 12th century, Oô was a stop on the Way of St. James. The Église Saint-Jacques houses a polychrome Baroque altarpiece dating from the 17th century. The Chapelle d'Astau was decorated by the icon painter Nicolas Greschny during its restoration in the 1960s.

The Tour à signaux dite Le Castet has been listed as a historic monument since 11 April 1950. A mass for the blessing of the herds is held at the Chapelle d'Astau in mid-June, when shepherds and breeders gather for the ascent to the summer pastures. A copy of the Pierre d'Oô is kept in the Musée du Pays de Luchon.

Nature

Lac d'Oô is a natural glacial lake situated at an altitude of 1,507 m. A 275 m-high cascade is located at Lac d'Oô. Since May 1927, Lac d'Oô has been classified in France in the Grands Paysages category.

Trails and Events

Lac d'Oô can be reached on foot from the Granges d'Astau in less than an hour. The Association Trail du Lac d'Oô was founded in 2023 to ensure the event continues permanently and to offer several distances. Le Séculejo is a 7 km-long race with 550 m of positive elevation gain between Oô and Lac d'Oô; the route follows roads and trails to the lake.

The 31st Crafts and Gastronomy Day, featuring a craft market and a meal, is scheduled to take place in Oô on 9 August 2026.
