Culture and history

The parish church is located in the western part of the settlement of Montgaillard-de-Salies and borders the cemetery. It is an example of Neo-Romanesque architecture from the second half of the 19th century. Its furnishings include a wooden pulpit, characteristic of items from the First French Empire. The parish church also contains an upside-down antique column base serving as a holy water basin.

The medieval castle was purchased in 1585 by François Ustou, Seigneur of Estadens. The Ustou Montgaillard family retained control of the municipality until the French Revolution.
