Arnaud-Guilhem: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Culture and History

Arnaud-Guilhem was under the authority of Bonnefont from 1136 to 1790. At the site of Picheloup, the Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to four young farm women from 23 June 1859; the apparitions are said to have continued for 18 months. The Church of Saint Martin contains old baptismal fonts.

Trails and Activities

There is a car park in Arnaud-Guilhem for hikers on the Via Garona. The Via Garona is the 170-kilometre GR 861, which has connected Toulouse with Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges since summer 2017. The Arnaud-Guilhem leisure centre is a starting point for mountain biking, e-mountain biking, trekking, gravel biking, hiking and trail running.

The Chemin de Nankin is a 7-kilometre trail opened in 2002 that is considered suitable for everyone and free of particular difficulties, and runs mainly through Proupiary. The Sentier VTTAE des Petites Pyrénées No. 35 is a blue-marked cross-country route for e-mountain bikes, with sections on roads, rural tracks and narrower paths, as well as shaded areas and beautiful landscapes.

The historic site of Abbaye de Bonnefont en Comminges is located in the vicinity of Arnaud-Guilhem. The ancient site of Villa Chiragan is located in the surroundings of Arnaud-Guilhem.

The peaks of Pic de Montbajan, Rochers de Péne Nère, Sommet de la Husse and Pic de l'Estelas are located in the wider region surrounding Arnaud-Guilhem. The historic site of Abbaye de la Bénisson-Dieu and the Musée archéologique départemental are also located in this wider region.
