Ville-Sur-Saulx: holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Château de Ville-sur-Saulx estate – particularly its park – was placed under protection as a historic monument by a decree dated 27 October 1995. The estate also includes an English landscape garden created at the end of the 19th century.

Culture

The Stations of the Cross were created by Anselme Warren, painted by G. Houzuc, and have been protected since 1997. Along the Saulx, there is also a wash house built in 1840, which was used until the 1970s.

Landscape

The Saulx River runs alongside Ville-sur-Saulx. The municipality is fully protected as part of the registered landscape area of the Vallée de la Saulx. In the wider surrounding region are Mont Dardel hill and the Fontaines des Trois Évêques spring.

Routes

The Boucle des châteaux is designated as both a hiking trail and a cycling route. The beginning of the Boucle des Châteaux follows a former railway line that was converted into the “Randonnée du Tacot”. There is also a fishing stretch along the Saulx; it follows the Chemin du Tacot.

The historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame des Jandeures is located in the immediate vicinity of Ville-sur-Saulx. The surrounding area also contains the ruins of Abbaye de Trois-Fontaines, the historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame Cheminon, Marne, and the ruins of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Saint-Dizier.
