In Vaucouleurs stands the parish church of Saint-Laurent, which has been classified as a historic monument since January 20, 1989. The church has a fully painted ceiling decorated with frescoes; the pulpit inside dates from 1717. The crypt contains the statue of Notre-Dame des Voûtes, in front of which Joan of Arc prayed.

The Chapelle castrale stands on the site of an original chapel built in 1234. The Château de Vaucouleurs is partly classified as a historic monument and partly registered as a historic monument; the protection applies only in part. The Fonderie d’Art de Tusey specialized in producing art castings and manufactured, among other things, busts, statues, monumental fountains, and candelabras.

Nature and Trails

The Tilleul received the French designation “Arbre Remarquable de France” in October 2011. The Sentier de Sainte Anne is an easy 15-kilometer circular hiking trail. The Neufchâteau–Vaucouleurs section of the La Meuse à vélo – EuroVelo 19 cycle route ends in Vaucouleurs.
