Taurinya: Holiday apartments and holiday homes
In Taurinya, the Sentier de Llasera et du Roc Mosquit begins, a climb with an elevation gain of 1,520 m. The footpath from Taurinya to the Refuge des Cortalets also leads via Llasseres, Roc Mosquit, Soucarrade and Ras des Cortalets. Culture
The parish church of Taurinya, dedicated to Saint Fructuosus, is documented between 845 and 855 as property of the Abbey of Saint-Michel-de-Cuxa; King Lothair confirmed this ownership. The present nave and bell tower of the Church of Saint-Fructueux in Taurinya were built during renovations in the 12th century.
In Corts stands the preserved Chapel of Saint-Valentin, which probably dates from the 12th century. It has a single-nave layout with a semicircular apse and was built on the foundations of a signal tower erected in the 11th century.
Taurinya is also home to the house of the renowned ceramic artist François Miro.
Landscape
The former pastoral site of Llasseres is located in the municipality of Taurinya at an altitude of 1,200 to 1,500 m and can be reached from Taurinya via the Les Costes and Ramá paths. Several types of dry-stone pastoral structures have been preserved in Llasseres, including livestock pens and shepherds’ huts.
Hiking
Near the grocery store in Taurinya there is an Info-Rando point serving day visitors and visitors staying for longer periods. The Sentier des Mines is a 3.7 km-long municipal hiking trail marked in yellow. It offers panoramic views over the Taurinya valley and the gorges of the Litera.
The Sentier des Mines reaches the Salver mining site via an old ore transport route. There, a 100 m-long sloping section of the path leads to the furnaces and the former miners’ accommodation. Information boards about the Salver mining site are located along a large part of the route.
Les Balcons de Taurinya is a difficult hike starting in Taurinya, a 12 km circular hike signposted with GR and PR trail markings.
