Taulis (TeulÃs) lies between Montbolo and Saint Marsal at an elevation of 340 to 1,360 metres. The surrounding area is characterised by greenery and slate, while the village overlooks the beech, chestnut and holm oak forests of Bas Vallespir. TeulÃs (Taulis) is also home to the Dolmen de Ribes Rojas at an elevation of 840 metres; its capstone is no longer present.

Culture and History
The grounds of Croanques contained a tower and a pre-Romanesque chapel in 956, which at that time bore the name Saint Agnès de Croanques. The Church of Saint-Jean-l'Évangéliste in TeulÃs (Taulis) was built in the Catalan Romanesque style in the 11th century. It includes a so-called bell-gable tower and a 17th-century altarpiece.
The washhouse in Taulis was established in 1873 and also served as a drinking-water fountain. The Circuit de la Route du Fer is an activity offered in TeulÃs (Taulis).
The ruins of Château de Croanques date back to the 10th century. Abbaye Sainte-Marie, a church, is located in the area around TeulÃs. In the wider regional area are Castell de Cabrera, a castle, Castell dels Moros, a historical site, and Torres de Cabrenç, also a historical site.
