Llauro is built on the slope of La Calcine hill and offers views across the Roussillon plain to the Mediterranean Sea. The Sentier du Liège hiking trail opens up a sweeping panorama: from there, views extend from the Pyrenees with Pic du Canigó to the Albères, which descend towards the Mediterranean Sea.

Landscape
The peaks of Torrer Blanc, Roc Catri and Puig de les Gantes are located in the immediate vicinity of Llauro. The summit of Pla del Rei is also nearby.
Culture and History
The Église Saint-Martin in Llauro has a bell gable with two openings containing two bells. The church was first mentioned in 1011. For almost a century, Llauro was one of the major French centres of the cork industry.
The Sentier du Liège also connects the landscape with traces of the past: the trail passes by Coll del Roure, where an information board points to a dolmen and ancient cart tracks carved into the slate. There are two prehistoric dolmens in Llauro, one of which is the Cabana del Moro. Access to it is currently not recommended without an agreement with the owners, as the dolmen is on private property near a residential building. Finds recovered during the excavation of the Cabana del Moro include a polished axe and a polished slate slab.
The historic site of Castell dels Moros, the ruins of Priorat del Coll de Panissars and Fort de Bellaguarda are located in the vicinity of Llauro. Further afield in the region around Llauro is Castell de Cabrera castle.
