Bages: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Casa Carrère was built by François Carrère in 1954; completing it required around twenty years of construction work. Since 2007, it has opened its doors for cultural events on the occasion of Sant Jordi and the Festival de l’été.

Culture

The landscaped grounds of Casa Carrère are used during cultural events, among other things, for open-air concerts and vernissages. Traditional Catalan festivals in Bages include the Bonfires of Saint John and Sant Jordi. The Église Saint-André in Bages was first reliably mentioned in 1093.

Hiking and Cycling

The Crêtes et Sentiers association offers hikes on Tuesday mornings, Thursday afternoons and at weekends. Crêtes et Sentiers has been awarded the “Rando Santé” label for the Thursday afternoon hikes. During a hike held as part of Octobre Rose, an 8 km route led around Castellàs du Réart, la Corbosa and les Matès; participants had to negotiate an elevation gain of 74 metres.

The “De Bages au lac de Villeneuve-de-la-Raho” voie verte is an easy 2.8 km cycling route from the car park at Bages town hall to Lac de Villeneuve-de-la-Raho.

Local Area

Bages’ weekly market takes place at Place République and is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., depending on the calendar; a vegetable producer is present on Tuesdays and Fridays.
