Culture and history
The Église de l’Exaltation de la Sainte-Croix is part of the history of Sainte-Croix-de-Quintillargues. Its main construction phases date from the 11th through the 12th to the 16th century. The church was consecrated in 1138; since 30 March 1978, it has been listed as a historic monument.
The Château de Laugères also evokes earlier times: it consists of the remains of a 14th-century castle and offers panoramic views of the region. The Dolmen de la Combe de la Bénovie is a megalithic monument from the Late Chalcolithic.
Nature
The Bénovie rises in the municipality, more precisely in the limestone hills of the Sainte-Croix-de-Quintillargues garrigue. The village is located in a Natura 2000 site designated for its exceptional biodiversity; the Bénovie is also part of this site.
