History
The Church of Saint-Pargoire has been documented since the 9th century as property of the Abbey of Gellone in Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert. The present church was built at the end of the 13th century and is considered a symbol of the emergence of rural Gothic architecture in southern France. To the east of the municipality, dolmens and menhirs bear witness to settlement during the Neolithic period.
