Saint-Geniès-De-Fontedit: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The parish church of Saint-Geniès was built in the southern French Gothic style with a single nave. The Gothic church of Saint-Geniès dates from the 14th century and has canonical sundials as well as a green bell tower. A bell from the first quarter of the 15th century (1401) is classified as a Monument historique.

The Porte du Puits dates from the 13th to the beginning of the 14th century. It is the only surviving remnant of the three fortified outer gates of the former enclosure of the municipality and has two outer arches as well as an inner passage with a round-arched vault.

The Chapelle Saint-Fulcran is located 1,500 metres from the village. From the chapel, there is a view of the blue mountains of the Cévennes and the extensive coastal plain from Agde to Canigou.

The hiking route “RANDONNÉE SAINT-GENIÈS-DE-FONTEDIT "VIGNES ET PATRIMOINE"” is a 14.0 km walk of moderate difficulty and leads through vineyards and olive groves.

The starting sign is missing at the starting point of the hiking route. Those facing the “Le clocher vert” cooperative winery should turn right.
