The “Circuit du vin à la source” circular hiking trail is easy, approximately 7.5 kilometres long and takes around two hours. It leads through the AOP and IGP vineyards of Pomérols. From the wine-growing area, the panoramic view extends to the Étang de Thau and the hill of Sète.

Culture

The Church of Saint-Cyr and Sainte-Julitte in Pomérols dates from the 13th century. Its Baroque altarpiece was created in 1676 by the sculptor Jean Cannet, who came from Agde, and is listed as a monument historique. The Chapelle des Pénitents of the Church of Saint-Cyr in Pomérols dates from the late 16th or early 17th century.

In the historic centre of Pomérols, there are houses with façades dating from the 14th, 15th and 16th centuries. Pomérols was already organised as a castrum in 1160. The rhynchite is Pomérols’ totem animal and is paraded through the village during local festivals.

Wine

The cooperative winery of Pomérols produces wine under the AOP Picpoul de Pinet designation of origin. The Domaine des Laux also opens its winery to visitors. The visitor programme includes a cellar tour and a wine tasting; selected stages of the winemaking process are demonstrated practically in real time.

Geographical location

Pomérols is located 10 kilometres east of exit 34 on the A9 motorway and can be reached via the D 13, D 13E15 at Saint-Thibéry and D 18 roads.
