Culture and History

The Église Saint-Hippolyte is a Romanesque building dating from the second half of the 12th century and is protected as a historic monument. Its single-nave structure has three barrel-vaulted bays. The façade retains corbels from a machicolation presumably used to defend the entrance; this suggests that the church was fortified.

The Église Sainte-Cécile was built in the 14th century in the Languedoc Gothic style and is protected as a historic monument. Its broad single-nave structure comprises five bays and has very prominent buttresses, characteristic of Languedoc Gothic architecture. The remains of a church built in the early Christian period are located in the Jardin Archéologique de Sainte-Cécile.
