Culture
In the hamlet of Grange Montagne, 1 km from the village, residential buildings from the 17th century have been preserved. Grange Montagne also features a Renaissance-style window, a portal leading to a small square and a washhouse.
The present-day church in Liausson was built between 1858 and 1861 in the Gothic Revival style. The baptismal font from the early 18th century and the chalice from the early 19th century are listed as historic monuments.
Activities
The Mont Liausson circular trail was created and is maintained by the Hérault département, and is marked with the support of the Comité Départemental de la Randonnée Pédestre de l’Hérault. The circular trail is 8 km long and takes approximately 3 hours and 30 minutes. It passes the ruins of the Saint-Jean-d’Aureilhan hermitage, which offer a panoramic view in all directions. Construction of the Saint-Jean-d’Aureilhan hermitage began in 1232. The Saint-Jean-d’Aureilhan hermitage remained a place of retreat and prayer for a long time.
Le Dyke et Neck de la Roque is a significant site of volcanism in the Grand Site de France Salagou – Cirque de Mourèze and in the Géoparc Terres d’Hérault, and can be explored on foot, by mountain bike, on a stand-up paddleboard, by kayak or by pedal boat.
