Culture and History
The former Font de l’Oli oil fountain has been listed in its entirety as a historic monument by decree of 7 November 2016. It consists of a dilapidated hut, a network of tunnels and two silt-filled basins. The Font de l’Oli is located less than one kilometre south of Gabian.
The Musée du Pétrole is located in Gabian’s town hall. The Ancienne résidence des Evêques de Béziers preserves remnants of its original 13th-century fortifications and was remodelled between 1440 and 1451 with a painted ceiling featuring coats of arms, fantastic animals and painted figures.
