Fos: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Nature
The “Randonnée Fos La Charbonnière” hike is easy, approximately 6.5 km long, takes about two hours and has around 130 metres of elevation gain. It starts and ends in Fos; the starting point is in the car park in front of Fos town hall. The “Boucle Cyclo N°17 - Les Magnifiques Routes de Faugères” cycling loop is also listed as easy, with a length of 25.8 km and a duration of two hours.
Culture
Fos is considered a typical 11th-century village. A steep road leads to the restored Romanesque church. Fos Castle was built under the rule of François I; the remains of the gallows, known as the “fourches patibulaires”, have been preserved on its grounds. Fos can be explored via steep lanes and a labyrinth of old buildings. A Capitelle is located along a hiking trail in Fos, and the village also has a reconstructed charcoal kiln.
Wine
The family-run Domaine Ollier-Taillefer winery, located in Fos, is managed by fifth-generation winegrowers. Since the 2012 harvest, all of the winery’s wines have been certified organic by Ecocert. The vineyards face south, lie at elevations of between 250 and 350 metres depending on the plot, and extend across steep schist slopes.
The “Clos de l’Aire” is a small wine estate featuring a collection of grape varieties from earlier times and the present day, supplemented by simple explanations.
