Culture and History
The Church of Saint-Saturnin is documented from 804 onwards and is mentioned a total of eight times up to 1153. In the 15th century, it was extended by a Gothic nave set at a right angle. The southern end of this nave opens onto a monumental porch on the road.
The Notre-Dame-d’Hortus Chapel was mainly constructed at the end of the 14th or the beginning of the 15th century. It stands at the entrance to the municipality of Ceyras and is clearly visible from the road. The chapel’s large porch was built towards the end of the 15th century.
The Aqueduc de Rieu was built at the end of the 16th or the beginning of the 17th century to channel water from the spring of Horts du Pioch to its large garden, which was called “Le Grand Jardin” in the 18th century.
The Tour du Guet de Leneyrac was a watch and defence tower and part of the defensive system of the Château des Guilhem. The Saint-Pierre-de-Leneyrac Chapel was probably built around the year 1000 and later became the subsidiary or filial chapel of the church in Ceyras.
The La Cave à Livres media library offers weekly events for children and adults. La Cave à Livres also features a permanent photo exhibition by the Objectif Image 34 club, which is regularly updated.
