The Musée Agathois Jules Baudou was founded in 1935 in the historic centre of Agde and presents the arts and traditions of Agathé. Its exhibition includes reconstructed Languedoc interiors, traditional costumes from Agde, ship models, collections on local history, Art Nouveau furniture and Japanese armour.
Saint-Étienne Cathedral was built between 848 and 872 as a fortified Romanesque church made of local volcanic rock. It features a 35-metre-high, battlemented keep. In summer, jousting tournaments take place on the Hérault at the foot of Saint-Étienne Cathedral in Agde.
Château Laurens offers guided tours for individuals and groups by prior reservation. The restored masterpiece of southern Art Nouveau from the early 20th century was built around 1900 and combines Egyptian, Greco-Roman and Oriental influences.
At the entrance to Cap d'Agde, the Musée de l'Éphèbe et d'Archéologie sous-marine presents underwater archaeological collections from 50 years of discoveries in the Hérault, the sea and the Thau Lagoon. Guided heritage tours along the Hérault are also offered in Agde; during these tours, one of three heritage routes can be explored.

ADENA, based in Agde, manages the Réserve naturelle nationale du Bagnas and offers guided nature activities there all year round.
Getting around
The round lock of Agde is a lock with three gates that is still in use and provides access to the Hérault. A guided tour aboard the Capitan starts at the river port of Agde and runs along the Canal du Midi.
Cycle paths run along the banks, locks and inland ports of the Canal du Midi on the way to Agde, starting from its beginning at the Étang de Thau.
Market
Agde's traditional market offers local products such as mussels, oysters, seafood and fresh fish, as well as prepared regional dishes.
