Les Plans is a hilly village at the foot of the Escandorgue and Grézac plateaus. The landscape around Les Plans is characterised by rugged, hilly topography with limestone slopes and fertile soils. The Soulondres runs through Les Plans.

Culture

The Chapelle Saint-Sauveur in Les Plans is probably associated with a main construction phase in the 12th century. It is considered pre-Romanesque and features ornamental paintings. The Church of Saint-Saturnin in Les Plans preserves a gravestone from the 5th or 6th century. A dolmen stands on the heights above Les Plans.

Landscape

The Col du Perthus offers a panorama of Jurassic geological formations with light-coloured limestone and weather-shaped marl. At the Col du Perthus, visitors can cycle by road bike through forests and over ridges to the Cirque de Labeil.

On the way

A circular trail on the Plateau du Grézac runs through the territories of the municipalities of Lodève, Lauroux and Les Plans, provides an opportunity to learn about the history of the plateau, and should not be walked during the hunting season.
