Gyé-Sur-Seine: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Saint-Germain Church in Gyé-sur-Seine was rebuilt from 1719 to 1754. It is 32 metres long and has a five-bay nave with side aisles and a straight-ended choir.

Culture

The Saint-Germain Church houses the statue Vierge à l’Enfant, a painted polychrome limestone statue classified as a movable object among the Monuments historiques. The statue Christ de Pitié is also located in the church.

The Notre-Dame-de-l’Orme Chapel is still preserved. During the construction of the Bar-sur-Seine–Châtillon royal road, it was deconsecrated and damaged; today, it is privately owned.

Only a square pavilion and the village church remain of the former fortified house of the Château de Gyé-sur-Seine.

Nature

The 119.43-hectare Type 1 ZNIEFF “Pelouses du Replat de la Haie, des Plains, de Dalivard et de Cosvigne” also includes the municipality of Gyé-sur-Seine. Rare or protected plants occur in the ZNIEFF, including the amethyst aster, yellow gentian and several broomrape species.

Champagne Jean Josselin welcomes guests on the banks of the Seine to present its Champagne and share the family history, from the old cellars to the modern winery. The wine estate can be reached on foot, by bicycle and even by canoe.

Carbonex in Gyé-sur-Seine offers workshops together with a chef on lighting grills, various cooking methods and recipes.

In the wider regional area, the tourist Champagne Route of the Côte des Bar runs through the region, a signposted 220-kilometre route featuring visits to wine cellars, encounters with winegrowers and tastings.
