Chaource: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

Nature

The Forêt d’Aumont covers more than 13,000 hectares and has a diverse range of flora and fauna in the vicinity of Chaource. The Forêt d’Aumont has marked trails for hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking.

The Circuit du Chaourçois gravel/mountain bike loop starts at the church in Chaource and leads through agricultural plains before entering the largest forest area in the département. The loop is approximately 25 kilometres long, has around 250 metres of elevation gain, takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes, and is considered easy. Deer, wild boar, and foxes can be observed in the surrounding area along this loop.

Food and drink

The Fromagerie de Mussy in Chaource offers a freely accessible visitor gallery and a video about the production process. There, the Fromagerie produces traditionally made Chaource AOP as well as fresh cheese shaped with a ladle. Guided tours are available exclusively for groups of more than 20 people; individual visitors can visit the Fromagerie independently.
