Barberey-Saint-Sulpice: Holiday apartments and holiday homes

The Château de Barberey-Saint-Sulpice was built in 1626 by Jean le Mairat. The privately owned château offers tours of its grounds, the former fortified manor house complex, and the French park and garden. The park and garden bear the “Jardin remarquable” label.

Culture

The nave of the Église de Barberey-Saint-Sulpice dates from the 12th century. The Église Saint-Sulpice has been listed as a historic monument since 1925.

The church has a Renaissance gallery with carved wooden decoration, vine motifs, and medallions. Among the protected furnishings is a reliquary bust of Saint Sulpitius dating from the 17th century, made of carved, painted, and gilded oak. The Église Saint-Sulpice also contains a polychrome limestone statue of Saint Sebastian from the 16th century, as well as a painted and gilded oak cabinet from the late 18th century. The church also houses the tomb monument of Claude Louis Bruslé, who died in 1825.

The Pont-canal de Barberey-Saint-Sulpice on the Canal de la Haute-Seine is a listed 19th-century canal bridge. It includes a footbridge accessible to pedestrians and cyclists and is integrated into the Voie verte de la Seine.

The Voie verte du canal de la Haute-Seine runs from Barberey-Saint-Sulpice to Crancey along the Canal de la Haute-Seine, which runs parallel to the Seine. The towpath section of this Voie verte has been developed as a trail.
