Accommodation in Saint-Symphorien-Le-Château
The Église Saint-Symphorien in Saint-Symphorien-le-Château combines several construction phases: it has a 13th-century nave, a 15th-century choir and a 16th-century chapel. From 1873 to 1874, the church was extensively remodelled by the architect Henri Parent. The Église Saint-Symphorien is also associated with the sculpture group “Vierge de Pitié”.
Culture
The Patton Monument memorial site and the memorial dedicated to the Third U.S. Army form a place of remembrance and education. It is dedicated to the victory of the Allies and the liberation of France at the end of the Second World War. The Patton Monument memorial site is located in the hamlet of Essars on the N10, on Rue du Général Patton. The Voie de la Liberté memorial route was initiated in Saint-Symphorien in the territory of Auneau-Bleury-Saint-Symphorien. In addition, a bust of Patton was installed and unveiled in 1961 in the garden of the town hall.
