Culture and History

The Church of Saint Roch was built from the late 13th century onwards and completed in the early 14th century. Its wooden ceiling is shaped like an upturned boat. On 11 January 1941, it was entered into the Supplementary Inventory of Historic Monuments.

The washhouse in Vincelles was built in 1867 and restored from 1984 to 1989, and again in 2014. The Château de Vincelles was built in 1775 by Edmé Germain Villetard; in 1806, it housed Madame de Staël.

Water and Paths

The Yonne River is the most important body of water flowing through the municipality of Vincelles. The Vincelles boating stop offers walkers and cyclists a drinking-water fountain, toilets, an electric-bike charging station and a bicycle repair kit.

Cycle Paths

The 18-kilometre cycling stage from Auxerre to Vincelles along the Canal du Nivernais combines nature, wine, gastronomy, cultural heritage and encounters. A cycle route passes through Vincelles and is part of the Tour de Bourgogne à vélo route. The cycle tour from Auxerre to Clamecy passes through Vincelles.

Getting There

Vincelles railway station is located on the Paris Bercy–Auxerre–Corbigny railway line.
