Culture

The Église Saint-Hilaire-et-Saint-Eutrope in Villeperrot is a rural Romanesque church dating from the 12th century. Since 11 February 1929, it has been listed as a historic monument by decree. Inside, it houses two stone statues depicting Saint-Hilaire, a bishop, and Saint-Vincent.

An arts and crafts market featuring handmade products by local artisans was held in the park of the Manoir de l’Onde. The Manoir de l’Onde event area includes a terrace on the banks of the Yonne, as well as a picnic area and a playground.

Nature

The Colline des 17 villes is an elevated viewpoint over the Yonne Valley in Villeperrot. In the 18th century, it was referred to as “la montagne”.

The programme for the 2024 European Heritage Days included walks along a former Roman road. It also included idyllic walks along the unspoilt banks of the Yonne.

Local life

The Fête des Lumières in Villeperrot is a local Christmas tradition held in the village church. Viticulture in Villeperrot has been documented since 1416 under the controlled designation “Vin François”. A food market featuring local products from the region was also held in Villeperrot.

Villeperrot Town Hall houses a permanent exhibition that is open to visitors.
