Poilly-sur-Serein combines protected sacred heritage, restored architecture and routes to historic sites. The Church of Saint-Aignan has been classified as a Monument historique by decree since January 22, 1910. The present church is believed to have been built between 1465 and 1537 by the Hussons, the Lords of Tonnerre and Poilly. The spring can be reached via the Chemin du Serein, which was laid out along the route of a former departmental railway line that was closed in 1952. Access begins at the former station in the Allée de Saint-Potentien, 1.3 km away.
