Pisy: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes
Culture and History
The side chapels of the bay beneath the bell tower of the Church of Saint-Germain-d'Auxerre were built in the 15th century. The former chapel, which now serves as a sacristy, may date from the early 16th century.
The church's furnishings include baptismal fonts dating approximately from the 16th century. They are stone works made of limestone with a square floor plan.
The choir of the Church of Saint-Germain-d'Auxerre, with its circular apse, and the bay in front of the choir beneath the bell tower probably date from the 12th century. The choir is covered by a half-dome vault, while the bay in front of the choir beneath the bell tower has a groin vault.
The Château de Pisy also preserves older structural elements. Its chapel has two bays and was consecrated in 1537. The wall paintings in the chapel indicate an earlier building phase than the consecration in 1537.
The Château de Pisy stands at the end of the village street on the Tonnerrois plateau, on a terrain step above the Serein Valley to the south. It was listed as a historic monument in 1944 and classified as a historic monument on 12 July 2013.
Events
For 20 years, the Utopies Festivales de Pisy have taken place every summer. The programme includes classical music, jazz, improvised music, brass bands, theatre and poetry. The Utopies Festivales use the Château de Pisy as the venue for their annual festival.
