The Château de Piffonds visible today is the second castle. After the original fortress of Courtenay was destroyed in 1367, it was gradually rebuilt from the 15th century onwards.

The Église Saint-Martin-et-Sainte-Radegonde de Piffonds displays all the features of Gothic architecture, including pointed-arch vaults, flying buttresses and tall stained-glass windows. It houses numerous religious works of art, including side altars and statues.

The Château de Piffonds includes a dovecote with a movable vertical beam bearing the year 1472. The Chapelle de la Vierge, located south of the choir of Piffonds parish church, has always been regarded as part of the Château de Piffonds.
