Church and History

The Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul in Escolives-Sainte-Camille originated from a 5th-century oratory dedicated to Saint Camille and was converted into a Romanesque church in the 12th century.

The church’s 12th-century Romanesque entrance porch-narthex features a quatrefoil rose window with a relief of the Lamb of God, as well as stone representations of an atlas figure and a griffin. The Romanesque Church of Saint Peter and Saint Paul is known for its crypt, narthex and octagonal bell tower made of red bricks.
