Culture and history
The Church of Notre-Dame et Sainte-Alpais was built from 1170 onwards as a chapel for Sainte Alpais. It was altered and extended in the 12th and 15th centuries; extensive alterations were carried out in the third quarter of the 19th century.
The tomb of Sainte Alpais is located in the church in Cudot. It is listed as a protected historic object. The sculptor Émile Peynot created the tomb in 1891.
Louis de Saint-Phalle had the Château de Saint-Phalle rebuilt; construction of the main building began in 1496.
The Château de Saint-Phalle in Cudot was probably a regular quadrilateral measuring around 50 metres on each side, with a tower at each corner and a moat surrounding it.

Things to do
During the pilgrimage to Sainte Alpais on 20 May 2024, participants could join the walk in the morning from Villeneuve-sur-Yonne at 8:00 a.m. or from Verlin at 10:30 a.m. The pilgrimage to Sainte Alpais includes a walk, instruction, adoration and a Mass on Whit Monday.

The historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame des Écharlis is located in the vicinity of Cudot. In the wider region around Cudot are the historic site of Château de Joigny, the Musées de Sens museum and the historic site of Abbaye Notre-Dame de Fontaine-Jean.
