Culture
The Église Saint-Martin has been fully protected as a historic monument by a registration order dated June 10, 1926. Its floor plan has the shape of a Latin cross; it was built in two construction phases. Its architecture and window sculptures reveal construction phases from the 15th and 16th centuries.
An old Roman road connecting Entrains-sur-Nohain and Cosne crosses the municipal area of Ciez. At Jussy, the Gallo-Roman remains included a bronze bust, Roman coins from Nero to Décence, fragments of inscriptions, marble, and lead pipes.
Pilgrimages took place at the Chêne à la Vierge in the hamlet of Le Plessis until the 1930s. This place was associated with a tradition that has since been lost, according to which pregnant women prayed there and lit a candle. The washhouse of Ciez was built in 1907 behind the present-day church square.

Getting there
The journey to Ciez initially follows the A6 for 70.5 km, then the A77 for 97 km, and finally exit 22 toward Cosne-sur-Loire.
For travel to Ciez by train, the route from Paris-Bercy heads toward Cosne-sur-Loire, Nevers, or Clermont-Ferrand. Cosne-sur-Loire is the designated station for getting off.
