Hiking and Landscape
Valeyrac is now part of the Médoc Regional Nature Park. The Boucle de l’Estuaire can begin in the centre of Valeyrac or at Port de Goulée. It passes through the Médoc vineyards and along the embankment on the banks of the Gironde estuary.
At Port de Goulée, visitors have opportunities to picnic and eat. Port de Goulée also preserves small fishermen’s huts.
Culture and History
The Notre-Dame parish church in Valeyrac was built around 1850 by the architect Abadie.
The Circuit de La Chapelle is a 5.8 km walking route lasting 1 hour and 30 minutes and rated “very easy”. It allows visitors to discover the cultural heritage through the La Chapelle Saint-Siméon archaeological site. In the vicinity of Valeyrac, the Circuit de La Chapelle leads to an accessible archaeological site where a true-to-scale model illustrates the remains of a Gallo-Roman temple, a burial church and the Chapelle Saint-Siméon.
