Tauriac: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

The Château de Mayne Bernard winery covers 37 hectares and extends across the municipalities of Tauriac, Bourg and Lansac.

Wine

The 38-hectare Château Nodoz winery extends across Tauriac, Lansac and Bourg-sur-Gironde; the château is located mainly in Tauriac.

The Château Brûlesécaille vineyard is situated on well-drained clay-limestone and clay-gravel soils, where Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Malbec are grown.

Château Brûlesécaille can be visited by appointment from Monday to Friday, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Château Le Moulin de la Marzelle offers tours and wine tastings throughout the year from Wednesday to Sunday, by reservation.

By appointment, Château Le Moulin de la Marzelle also offers introductory blending workshops. Participants create their own wine and can take six bottles home. The price is €75 per person for a group of six people.

From April to October, Château Le Moulin de la Marzelle hosts winemakers' barbecues on the 20th of each month.

Landscape

The Château Nodoz vineyard is situated on a gravel slope facing east-southeast and southwest.

The Château Brûlesécaille vineyard is located on a hill overlooking the Dordogne.

Culture and History

The Église Saint-Étienne de Tauriac was classified as a historic monument in October 2005. It features buttresses and is decorated with ornate corbels as well as capitals decorated both inside and outside.

Building stone was extracted at La Pierrière. La Lustre supplied high-quality freestone by ship via the rivers to Bordeaux and other construction sites. Later, underground tunnel systems were used for several decades to grow “Paris” mushrooms.
