Culture and History
Saint-Médard-de-Guizières Church dates from the 12th century in terms of its main construction phase. Its apse and the bay beneath the bell tower were listed as historic monuments by decree of 5 October 1925. The Moulin de Lapouyade is part of the history of the area around the water. It is located in the Lapouyade area of Saint-Médard-de-Guizières on the River Isle and is now used as a hydroelectric power station. Previously, it was successively a grain mill, flour mill and oil mill. In the 12th century, the Moulin de Lapouyade belonged to the Viscount of Castillon, who assigned its income to Faize Abbey.

The 30-kilometre Circuit départemental de la vallée de l’Isle passes through Saint-Médard-de-Guizières. This circular route has a picnic area, a cycle rest area and a bicycle service area.
