The Bords de Garonne form a walking and recreational area with unobstructed views of the Garonne. From there, numerous “carrelets” can be seen: traditional fishermen’s huts on stilts that are typical of the region’s riverbanks.
Things to do
“Découverte de la Presqu’île, côté Garonne” is an easy 28.5-kilometre cycling route lasting three hours from Bassens. The Porte de Jourdane is located in Saint-Louis-de-Montferrand and is a detour on this cycling route.
Saint-Louis-de-Montferrand can be reached by combining bicycle and train via La Gorp station in Ambarès-et-Lagrave.
