Saint-Loubès: Holiday Apartments and Holiday Homes

Saint-Loubès lies on the edge of the Dordogne. To the north stretches an alluvial, partly marshy plain, while vineyards cover the slopes to the south. In the wider surrounding area of Saint-Loubès are the islands of Île de Croute, Île d'Ambès, Île des Vaches and Île de Macau.

Trails

The Circuit des lavoirs is an 8-kilometre circular route with two starting points. On foot, the route takes about two hours, while by bicycle it takes approximately one hour. The circular route passes four former washhouses: the lavoir de Peymenard, the fontaine Saint-Luc, and the lavoirs du Martin and de Conge. In addition, the VTT parcours de La Laurence is more than 40 kilometres long and passes through the Estrille, Sablons and Truch areas in Saint-Loubès.

Culture

The Chapelle du Prieuré is thought to have been completed in the middle of the 13th century. Acquired and restored by the town in 1982, the chapel was used as a municipal centre for artistic activities and cultural events.

The historic site of Abbaye de Bonlieu de Carbon-Blanc, as well as the Cité du Vin museum, the Musee d'Ethnographie and the Musee d'Aquitane, are located in the vicinity of Saint-Loubès.

Events

The Feu de la Saint Jean takes place on a Friday close to 21 June. At Port de Cavernes, there are fairground rides and an evening of dancing. The free Tèrra-Aventura treasure hunt “À Cavernes, hop! Hop! Hop” also starts at Port de Cavernes in Saint-Loubès. The walking route is approximately 1.5 kilometres long, takes about one hour and is accessible to pushchairs.
