The history of Château Toulouse-Lautrec dates back to the 16th century, when the “Maison noble de Taste” was built. Anyone wishing to visit Saint-André-du-Bois may be considering renting a holiday apartment.

History

A cultural tour with a guide-conférencier takes visitors through Château Toulouse-Lautrec, the former family residence of the famous painter Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Around 30 original works are displayed, including sketches, posters and lithographs. Château de Malromé in Saint-André-du-Bois also bears the “Maisons des Illustres” label.

Landscape

Château Toulouse-Lautrec is situated among fields, forests and vineyards. The estate includes a 43-hectare park and a vineyard.

Wine

The guided wine tour includes a commentary-led tasting of the estate’s wines and introduces visitors to the fermentation room, barrel cellar and winemaking techniques. The Pass Découverte combines a cultural tour with an oenological tour and a tasting of the estate’s wines. The Pass Journée includes both guided tours, a gourmet picnic and a bottle of Château wine in the grounds of the château.

Culture

The game “Le Trésor d’Adèle” is a fun and educational outdoor activity. The accompanying booklet includes the history of the château and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, as well as the story of his mother, Countess Adèle de Toulouse-Lautrec.

Heritage

The Église Saint-André was completely restored in 1860. Its façade is designed in the neo-Gothic style and features an axially positioned bell tower. Inside is an 18th-century wooden statue of Saint Andrew.

The church and cemetery site in Saint-André-du-Bois features Gallo-Roman remains, as well as ecclesiastical and medieval cemetery heritage. Château de Salle is a site with Palaeolithic remains and a medieval fortified house.
