Culture and history

The Eglise de Mombrier was built in the 12th century and extended in the 19th century. To this day, it preserves interesting Romanesque elements in its design and floor plan.

In 1864, the architects Hosteing and Durand added an additional southern apsidiole to restore the symmetry of the choir of the Eglise de Mombrier. The surviving Romanesque building components include the apse, the northern apsidiole, and the bell tower. The apse also preserves a remarkable modillon decoration with geometric, plant, and animal motifs.

The Eglise Saint-Sulpice in Mombrier is partially listed as a historic monument; the listing took place on November 21, 1925.

Various tools were discovered on Puybarbe Hill, dating back to prehistoric times and providing information about the origins of the municipality.
